Consecration of Tools

Consecration of Tools

I do this when I get a new Tool or with anything I feel is in some much needed cleansing. Things can get mucked up with to much different energy that it sometimes need to be cleaned and refreshed. You don't have to do this "Every time" you buy a new item for your craft. You would be casting a circle all the time ex specially when you are first starting out and buying your supplies.I kinda wait till I have a few new things to do at once or I will do it on a Sabbat after my celebration. Also there has been times when I had bought something new and I needed to use the tool right away I would cleanse it with Sage and use it until I could cleanse the tool really good. How ever you choose to do it is up to you. Go with what you feel comfortable with.I always say this but there really is not a right or wrong way in Wicca.

Supplies:
You will need all Tools needing to be consecrated.
Salt, water, A candle, White sage and your Athame.
Also a fully set up alter and circle.

After casting your circle and calling you would start your cleansing. I burn sage in my burner well doing the cleansing.

I am going to list some examples of a consecration

First one is by Scott Cunningham

Place your tool on the pentacle,or a plate of salt. Touch it with  the point of the athame and say:

"I consecrate you, O knife of steel (or what ever it is you are cleansing) to cleanse and purify you to serve me within the circle of stones. In the name of the Mother Goddess and Father God, you are consecrated."

Send projective energy into your tool, cleansing it of all energies. Now pick up your tool sprinkle it with salt, pass it threw your incense smoke, then through the candle flame and last sprinkle with water. Call upon the Spirits of the Stones to consecrate it.

Then hold the tool to the sky and say:

"I charge you by the old ones:By the omnipotent Goddess and God:By the virtues of the Sun, moon and Start:that I shall obtain all that I desire through you. Charge this by your power, Old Ones!"

The tool should immediately be put to use to strengthen and bind the consecration. For example, the athame can be used to consecrate another tool,a wand to invoke the Goddess;the pentacle to act as a resting place for a tool during its consecration.

This one I do and it is just like the one above but a little twist of my own. This works great when you have more then one tool to consecrate.

Consecration a tool ritual
by LWL

First I send cleaning energy into a bowl of water and the tool I am going to consecrate. Next I take the athame and put a few scoops of salt and put it in the water. I stir the salt in the water still projecting energy.Next I pick up the new tool and put it in the bowl of salt water(sprinkle the tool if to big). Place tool on your pentagram. Then you would put your athame point on the new Tool(s) and say:

I consecrate you (name of tool or tools if doing more then one)you are cleansed of all energies.
You are now pure so you can aide me in my circle of magic. In the names of farther God and mother Goddess you are consecrated!
So mote it be!
(if doing more then one tool just take a few seconds with each tool and the athame as you say the words)

Next you would Send Projective energy into your new tool as you Pass it threw the fire of the candle and the smoke of the burning Sage and sprinkle with the salt water. Hold the tool over your head and say:

I charge you (name of tool(s)) with the help of the all Ancient Ones. by the gracious love of the Lord and Lady. By the power of the elements Earth,Air,Fire and Water. You will aide me in all workings that I shall do in this sacred circle. Please charge this new tool with your power Great Ones! I thank you for your gifts!

Blessed Be!

Then I use my new tool like Scott Cunningham suggest.
My consecration is not as poetic as Scott Cunningham's but it is to the point and said in a way of asking for help other then kinda demanding there energy is giving to me to use. I feel like I should not demand anything from the Ancient ones due to respect of there powers and the gifts that come along with the use of them. I know I hate being demanded to do something so I won't do it to my
Lord and Lady.

(I am not bashing in anyway Scott Cunningham's ritual. He was a amazing self taught Wiccan! My most favorite writer. I learned my basic Solitary from his books)
